GER (Gross Enrolment Ratio) = enrolled students ÷ the college-age population × 100; it is gross, so it can exceed 100. GPI (Gender Parity Index) = female GER ÷ male GER; 1.0 is parity. GER for SC and ST runs below the All-India ratio in every year; the gender gap within each group is what GPI measures. The AISHE API publishes GER only for SC, ST and All Categories — there is no OBC GER series to serve."
